What is Dharma Dreams Vocational Center?
Dharma Dreams Vocational Center is a nonprofit vocational training program in Hanover, Massachusetts, offering hands-on career skills in the trades for young adults with learning differences. Our program takes a holistic approach by integrating life skills, confidence-building, and mind-body practices that support personal growth alongside vocational training.
Who should apply to the program?
The program is designed for young adults (typically ages 18–26) with moderate learning differences who learn best through hands-on training and are ready to build practical skills, confidence, and greater independence in a supportive environment.
What vocational programs are offered?
Our current core programs are painting and landscaping vocational training, with future possibilities such as carpentry, culinary arts, and nail technician training.
How long is the training program?
The program is offered in independent trimesters, each combining hands-on vocational training, life skills development, and supportive instruction. Students may enroll in one or more trimesters based on their goals and readiness.
Do you offer internships or real-world job experience?
At this time, we do not offer internships or guaranteed job placements. Instead, we support students with resume development, job applications, interview preparation, and job-search skills during the trimester. Dedicated time, primarily on Fridays, is used to help students explore employment options, practice workplace readiness skills, and build confidence as they prepare for future work opportunities.

Yes. Our program is designed for young adults with moderate learning differences who benefit from hands-on training, small group instruction, life skills development, and holistic support in a respectful, inclusive environment.
Is financial assistance available?
Yes. While financial assistance options vary by family, we encourage interested families to inquire directly about available support and scholarships. In addition to needs-based scholarships offered by Dharma Dreams Vocational Center, families may explore other possible funding sources such as Department of Developmental Services (DDS) Self-Directed Services, MassHire workforce programs, private bank financing, and the potential use of 529 education savings plans. Some families may also wish to consult their tax advisor about whether tuition or related expenses qualify as medical deductions.
