Dharma Dreams Vocational Center is excited to launch its inaugural Summer Vocational Exploration Programs for young adults ages 18-26 with mild to moderate cognitive or learning disabilities.
These hands-on, four-day introductory programs are designed to help participants explore vocational pathways, build workplace readiness skills, develop confidence, strengthen emotional regulation skills, and experience the unique approach that Dharma Dreams Vocational Center brings to vocational education.

Participants will choose one vocational track:
Landscaping Program
August 3-6, 2026
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Explore the fundamentals of landscaping while learning:

• Landscaping tools and safety
• Planting and garden maintenance
• Outdoor work skills
• Workplace communication
• Teamwork and professionalism

Professional Painting Program
August 10-13, 2026
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Explore the fundamentals of residential painting while learning:

• Painting tools and safety
• Surface preparation
• Brush and roller techniques
• Workplace communication
• Teamwork and professionalism

Who This Is For

This program is a good fit for young adults who are ready to take a step forward in a supportive, hands-on environment:

• Are between ages 18 and 26
• Have mild to moderate cognitive or learning differences 
• Feel stuck, unsure, or lacking direction
• Are not thriving in traditional school or work environments
• Would benefit from structure, support, and real-world experience
• Enjoy hands-on learning and working with their hands
• ​Are looking to explore something new and build confidence

This is a small-group program designed to encourage independence, participation, and peer interaction. While participants will receive guidance, support, and supervision throughout the day, the program is not intended to provide one-on-one support, personal aides, behavioral services, or intensive individual supervision.

It is also designed for parents who are looking for a practical, positive next step for their son or daughter, one that helps them gain skills, confidence, and a clearer sense of direction. And it is a program which offers a summer activity to help keep your son or daughter engaged.

Each program also introduces participants to key elements of the Dharma Dreams model, including:

Our goal is not simply to teach job skills, but to help young adults discover their strengths, explore future possibilities, and gain a clearer sense of direction.
