For many families of young adults with intellectual, developmental, and learning challenges, these aren't hypothetical questions. They are real concerns that become increasingly urgent as high school comes to an end.

Their young adults have abilities. They have interests, personalities, dreams, and so much potential.



What they don't always have is a clear path forward.

Dharma Dreams Vocational Center is a Massachusetts nonprofit dedicated to creating meaningful vocational opportunities for young adults with moderate cognitive and learning challenges.

Our approach is different because we believe learning a trade can teach far more than the trade itself.

Through hands-on training in professional painting and landscaping, we are building a program that integrates practical job skills with the personal and interpersonal skills needed to succeed in work and in life.

We focus on the whole person.

A painting project can become an opportunity to practice patience, problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail.

A landscaping project can teach teamwork, responsibility, decision-making, and perseverance.

And when a young adult becomes frustrated, anxious, or overwhelmed, we can use that moment to practice mindfulness, emotional regulation, and the confidence to try again.

Because success isn't just about learning how to paint a wall or maintain a landscape. It's about learning to believe in yourself, navigate challenges, connect with others, and discover what you're capable of.
